Today, online, I reviewed my landline phone bill. I noticed that for the past 2 months I've been getting charged for internet service that I actively had removed after a bad encounter with the technician. I called the 800 number, was placed on hold for 45 minutes, only to have to repeat myself several times. Total time spent on correcting the original issue 1 hour and 15 minutes! The Customer Service Rep then wanted me to complete a survey about her service! Moral to the story, people in general have come to accept poor service as a standard. Such that, when hiring a commercial cleaning company or total facility maintenance company, the customer does not even consider, "how will this company respond to service issues"?

ReplyDeleteExcellent piece. I agree with you 100%, as consumers we are so accustomed nowadays to poor service that we often forget that we have a choice of what companies we choose to spend our money with and customer service should ALWAYS be first! Great reminder!
